About Us

The US job market overall is not looking so good right now, but one bright spot is the retail sector.  Getting a job in retail is probably the one of easiest and best ways to get back in the job game.  Here are some ideas to help you land a retail job.

Be positive – If you think there are no jobs out there and even if there are that you will not get one, you are probably right.  When you are starting out on your quest to work in retail, you have to think positively.  Having the right attitude is essential.

Make Contact – It is a great idea to put on your best clothes and head out to your local mall with a stack of resumes.  Introduce yourself to the store manager and ask if they are hiring.  If they are, ask for the interview.  If they are not, hand them a resume and ask them for a business card.  Be sure to follow up with them via email when you get back home.  This is an old fashioned approach but it still works.

Be Social – I am referring to social networks here.  I am sure you are on Facebook, MySpace or Twitter.  If you are not using Linkedin, I suggest you sign up and create a profile.  You can join retail related group and it is a great way to network online.  Tap into your network and let everyone know that you are looking for retail jobs.  Sometimes you just have to put the word out.

Of course, you have also already taken a great step towards getting a job in retail by visiting this niche retail jobs board.  To make yourself visible to employers, create a profile and submit your resume, in addition to searching for jobs.
